Population 121,707 according to the 2002 Census

Position: 43°43'N; 20°41'E; central part of Serbia, at the confluence of the Ibar into the West Morava River, in the basin between tame Sumadija's and wilder Old Vlach's and Kopaonik mountain ranges. Kraljevo is built on one of the most important traffic crossorads of the middle part of Serbia. It is located in the heart of Sumadija, 180 km south of Belgrade and 185 km north of Pristina, 400 km from the Adriatic and 600 km from the Aegean Sea. 100 km part it from the top of Mt. Kopaonik, 36 km from Cacak, 50 km from Kragujevac and 56 km from Krusevac, 147 km from Nis, 186 km from Pristina and 100 km from Novi Pazar. Roads and railroads cross there, between the Pannonian Basin in the north, Adriatic and Aegean basins in the souh, middle Pomoravlje in the east and middle Podrinje and the Republic of Srpska in the west.


Altitude : average 206 meters.

Climate: mild continental, so the climate factors change depending on season. Such climate, but also geographic location, also conditions insolation - average of 8.5 sunny hours a day in summer period, and the annual average is 5.5 hours. Average annual temperature in the city is 11°C, app. 22°C in summer and app. 0°C in winter (the highest summer temperature noted on 22 July 1939 was 44.3°C, and the lowest winter temperature of -25,4°C was noted on 13 February 1935). Strong wind (Kошава) features late autumn, winter and early spring, while rest of the year milder west and north-west winds blow.

Population: Kraljevo, according to the 2002 Census there are 121,707 citizens. Terrain structure, size of the territory, number and territorial allocation of the citizens, natural characteristis, but also other factors affected the city to organize itslef into 92 settlements.
                                                    

National structure:  Of the total number of citizens of Kraljevo, 117,793 are Serbs, and the biggest national minorities are Montenegrians - 1,020, then Roma - 876, Macedonians - 251, Croatians 209, while number of other minorities is slight.

                                             

Sex ratio: Of the total number of citizens of the city of Kraljevo (121,707), percentage of female citizens is 50.98%, while percentage of male citizens is 49.02%

Average salary: On the basis of the published announcement SRB713P14 of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, average gross income per employee in December   2009 in the city of Kraljevo amounted to   € 436.02, in the Raska Administrative District   € 405.17, and in the Republic € 531.90, while average net income in the same period amounted to € 313.15 in the city, € 292.35 in the District and  € 382,85 in the Republic.
